Picture : (Briefly News)  Lurnay Tshabalala-Mavuso | Political Reporter | 21 June 2024  THE DA (Democratic Alliance) has suspended their new member of parliament Renaldo Gouws with immediate effect as videos of him uttering racist and homophobic remarks 15 years ago were raised by many people include political analysts like Jamie Mighti from Africa Research Desk. This has been a long controversial train on the news and on social media especially on X, where Gouws' answer to all this is that he is being hated for nothing.  These videos are surfacing now as he has been sworn in as the member of the parliament of the Republic of South Africa under the National Assembly's 7th administration. On the video that has been circulating on social media, Gouws repeatedly used the K word and the N words, which are humiliating terms used during the apartheid era to discriminate and humiliate black people.  In the video, Gouws says : "Alright so there's a couple of th

WORD OF THE DAY IS FUTURE

Image
Lucky Blom | Columnist | Youth & Lifestyle | 20 June 2024  The Youth: I SPEAK FOR ALL OF YOU!!  To all the young peeps out there.  The word of the day is "FUTURE" . Our parents depend on us in changing our home situations. They depend on us in changing the world, making it a better place to live in. It is therefore our duty to work hard to make that a success.  We all have different goals that we want to achieve. Let us work hard towards our goals. A word of advice to those who are in matric and those gunning towards matric, never ever take a gap year, time waits for no one and it moves fast. Go to varsity, college or consider online courses.  You want to achieve your goals right? Then don't just relax at home because those goals will never bring themselves to you if you did nothing to achieve them.  To those who have lost hope or losing hope on education, NEVER GIVE UP!!The opportunity is there, waiting for you to grab it with both hands. Stand up and go

ATM BOMBINGS CONTINUE TO RISE - GELUKSDAL SHELL GARAGE

Image
picture source :// News24 Lurnay Tshabalala-Mavuso | Editor-In-Chief | NEWS | 19 JUNE 2024  ATM BOMBINGS have become more popular and common particularly in Tsakane and other surrounding areas in around Ekurhuleni. Today early in the AMs, the Shell Garage in Geluksdal road was attacked by unidentifiable and un-numbered robbers. This has been an on-going conversation later in the day on social media and around the community of Tsakane. Residents have been shaken by the gunshots they have heard and they have a lot to say and luckily for us as Tsakane Informer we've got a reliable source who shared their experience on the incident that happened.  Here's what they had to say, "It was in the early hours of 02:38, I was turning at the robots next to the garage, as I was working a night-shift doing emergency deliveries, I did not see the robbers though the guy who was firing shots at my car was just next to the robots, I guess he was scouting and when he say my

HUMBLE YOURSELF & RESPECT OTHERS

Image
Lucky Blom - Columnist | Columns & Opinions | 19 June 2024  Let's talk...  Why do we judge each other? Why do we criticize each other? Why do we look down on other people?  I mean we all come from different families and different backgrounds. You having money doesn't make you better than anyone(My opinion). Yes I know some people were born into rich families, big houses, big cars, fancy schools and all the luxury, does that give you the right to mock others because of where they come from?... No. One thing I've learnt in this thing called life is it humbles you to the ground and it hits you so hard that you forget you even had the luxury in your life, karma also plays a role in that.Yes you worked hard, you went to school, varsity and secured a seriously good paying job and got yourself into luxury. But remember in all that, you must never forget to respect other people and never judge their backgrounds. Otherwise regret will follow you. Let me speak for every

WHAT HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY? A RESPONSE TO ADVOCATE DALI MPOFU'S POST ON X

PICTURE SOURCE// Nehanda Radio  Lurnay Tshabalala-Mavuso | Editor-In-Chief | POLITICS | LAW | 18 June 2024 ADVOCATE DALI MPOFU is one of the celebrated and highly respected legal minds in South Africa. One that I as a fellow learned jurist, respect and celebrate too, however seeing his post on X today 2 hours ago made me wonder. Do not get me wrong I understand the dynamics of South African politics and I really understand his capacity too as not just a legal professional but a politician who serves under the EFF(Economic Freedom Fighters), a political party led by none other than the celebrated politician and king of controversy - Julius Malema a Commander In Chief.  Now about the post. Advocate Mpofu called President Cyril Ramaphosa a criminal and by my own analysis I marry that with the EFF's new obsession called PHALA-PHALA. You can find the post on this link   https://x.com/AdvDali_Mpofu/status/1802952968062255349 In my own

POLITICS | Ramaphosa Remains In Power, After Winning Parliamentary Elections

Image
PICTURE SOURCE : IMDb //  Lurnay Tshabalala-Mavuso - Political Reporter | POLITICS | 15 JUNE 2024  VICTORY is sang as Cyril Ramaphosa won last night's parliamentary elections in the 7th Seating of the Parliament. Ramaphosa won the race at 283 against EFF's CIC Julius Malema who had 44 votes. This gave the honourable house quite a happy stir as votes flooded in favour of Ramaphosa, a leader that other parties deem and see fit to continue to lead the country and take it to greater heights.  Though unimpressed Malema, has shared with the parliament that he does not recognise the Government of National Unity that is the coalition between the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the African National Congress (ANC). Malema says, this is ultimate betrayal and not a coalition. He further continued to utter that he sees this coalition as a marriage between the DA and ANC, where the ANC is the bride and the DA the groom. Meaning the DA is the one that is in power not the ANC. He made it clear
