Wondering what to watch while you chilling at home during your spare time. Then worry not my friend, I have just the perfect companion for you. One that will keep you glued to the screen and give your social media platforms some rest. Allow me to introduce to you a Dan Levy and Eugene Levy production - SCHITT'S CREEK, a sitcom which will not only blow your lungs out in laughter but one that will transform your mindset and also educate you on livelihoods, human-behaviour, humor, humility, socio-economic issues and acknowledgement and respect of other people.

SCHITT'S CREEK is a phenomenal production that stars, Dan levy, Eugene Levy, Annie Murphy, the legendary Catherine O'Hara, Sarah Levy and Emily Hampshire to mention a few. The first airing of this show was on CBC Television from 2015 to 2020. Now I know this may sound too little outdate for some of you but trust me, you do not want to miss out on this show especially now that its on Netflix .

What is it about?

According to the synopsis of the show published on Wikipedia. The show is about the wealthy Rose family, who lost all their fortune due to a fraudulent act by Johnny Rose's business manager. Johnny Rose is played by Eugene Levy. After all this the family is brought to a very sad reality of having to move to a remote town called Schittsville. A town that Johnny bought for his son David on his birthday as a joke. David is played by Dan Levy. Having being accustomed to wealth and flashy lifestyles, this has had to be one of the most toughest journey that they have had to travel. Johnny, David, Alexis played by Annie Murphy and Moira played by Catherine O'Hara, move to an adjacent motel room in Schittsville where they begin their new lives for the first time as a family that is not rich.

What's interesting about this show ?

The thrill of the whole show is watching as the previously "well-off" family navigate their way into fitting in, in a town where it is oddly strange for them to exist. As Dan Levy once said in an interview, that the idea came from a thought about the Kardashians, wondering how life would be for them if they had lost all their wealth. Marry Dan's thought with your imagination about this show and then you will definitely want to see this show.

Awards

The show has been nominated numerous times for prestigious awards. In 2015 , Schitt's Creek won 2 recognition awards from the Directors Guild of Canada. This was later followed by many other nominations and later 4 Emmy nominations where Catherine O'Hara won Best Performance Actress and the show winning under the category of Best Comedy Series/Program.

Creators & Executive Producers

The creators of the show are Dan Levy and Eugene Levy, who are also the executive producers of the show together with Fred Levy, Andrew Barnsley, Kevin White and David West Read.

Now I employ you to go on, search Schitt's Creek on your Netflix account and add it to your watchlist and if you do not have Netflix I suggest you get it now, its affordable with a basic subscription of R49,99 per month, you can find yourself binge-watching this phenomenal production by father and son - Eugene and Dan Levy.

(picture: vuk'uzenzele.gov.za) Lurnay Tshabalala-Mavuso, Senior Reporter | CURRENT AFFAIRS | 28 May 2025  TSAKANE - Residents are fuming with anger and sadness as they express their sentiments and feelings on the poor service delivery that they are experiencing at Tsakane Magistrates' Court. They have expressed to Tsakane Informer that they have had enough of the court and the court's staff as they always have to beg and run behind the court staff's backs when they have to get service delivery. Among the complainants are elderly people who have filed for cases in the areas of Domestic Violence and in the Criminal department. Residents say that the court no longer serves them the justice that they deserve as cases are always being postponed and reminded for many dates with which when they return they are still getting no attention being given to them.  "The court must be closed because clearly there is no help that we are getting from it. The staff the...
