It is was on the 19th of November 2025 when the South African Police Services in Duduza, received a complaint from Pholosong Hospital where a 2 year old toddler was brought to the hospital by his mother. The 20 year old mother alleged that she had given her son snacks which she had laced with poison and had also eaten from the same packet of snacks in an attempt to commit suicide.
In her attempt to commit suicide she did not succeed, but instead was admitted into hospital for medical treatment, while her child did not survive the poisoning. While she was receiving medical care, the detectives at Duduza police station were working day and night to gather all the information regarding the death of the two year old who was laid to rest in November.
On Monday, 22nd of December 2025 upon receiving the news that the 20 year old mother of the deceased toddler had recovered and was being discharged to go home for Christmas, the Duduza police came to arrest her for the murder of her 2 year old son. The accused mother of the deceased toddler is currently in custody awaiting assessment from a psychologist. While another charge is added to her charge sheet, which is that of Illegal Immigration as she was found with no legal documents to be in South Africa.
