EDITOR'S LETTER | (April Edition)

BE YOUR OWN MIRROR!!! DEFINE WHO YOU ARE

I've once learned somewhere that life is an ebb and flow of releasing and receiving hellos and goodbyes, and that phrase has stayed with me for a very long time. I have since known this phrase from my late high school years and to this day this phrase continues to reside in the archives of my mind. This phrase simply means that we meet different people for different reasons and even though those reasons are different, us having experienced meeting those people leave us with either good or bad experiences which help us in this life thing. Now I know that a lot of you, young or old probably wonder why is it that it hurts so much when someone leaves in our lives and the answer is simple even though it might be hard to take it but it is quite simple, that person has served their God given purpose into your life and it is time for them and you to move on. Though that moving on leaves you with not just sadness and memories but lessons, lessons that you will continue to journey with as you continue navigating your path in this life-thing. Also meeting new people is exciting but you should always have an open mind and allow yourself to be vulnerable to the experience of meeting new people. I have once learned from the phenomenal Dr Brene Brown that, it is so much okay to be vulnerable and allow yourself to have feelings of vulnerability, because being vulnerable means you are a fully fledged human being that is not immune to having either good or bad experiences and whether you have them both or not, you will always have a way to bounce back. Bouncing back obviously not like Big Sean but bouncing back like a real person with real feelings and a real heart.

Choose what way you best like yourself and hold on to that vision. That should be your mirror. If you picture yourself as a successful professional in whatever career field you are in or you aspire to be in, then so be it. Live like you own that title and believe that you can achieve even more than you can think, because after all there is so much more to life than just living for the acronymn - YOLO. Yes it is true, we only live once but that should not be the motivating or encouraging words for you to live your life. You should live your life mirroring yourself the way you want to view yourself and be the one to define who you are. The only thing that will lead you to living a purposeful life that is filled with all the desires of your heart, is first clearing and cleansing your heart because there is definitely no achievement of any success when your heart is filled with jealousy, envy, grudges, hatred, anger and hurt. You need to forgive, let go, wish well for others and invite love into your heart and life and this does not mean romantic love, but real genuine love like the love that our saviour Jesus has for us. Be genuine and be intentional about your love and how you deliver it, do not allow the bad people that we meet in the walks of life to infiltrate your heart with bad energies. Hold on to what Jesus has left us with which are words of affirmation in the book of John 16 : 33, that In this life we will face trials and tribulations but we should take heart that he as our saviour, has overcome the world. He has conquered all the trials and tribulations that this world throws at us. All you have to do is JUST BELIEVE! Believe that he is your saviour and that he died for you so that you can have a life that is good in this world and in spirit too.

So start on working towards buidling that mirror and work on those words that you choose to define yourself with and worry less about what the world says or feels about you. What matters is what you believe, think and feel about yourself, allow the God in you to take charge and lead you to the perfect paths in this life thing.

KEEP WELL!! BE SAFE AND ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR APRIL!!
